Not sure what size hook you used Trevon, but a friend ties the red and pink ones on large hooks for early season largemouth. He’s caught several now over 5 pounds. I still don’t know what the bass take this for but they do.
I’m fairly sure that really large bass don’t take tiny aquatic worms frequently. Your size 12’s are just right for stream trout.
My friend ties these on custom bent 1/0 or so hooks but does still use smaller gauge wire for them. He is strictly an impoundment fishermen. His favorite way to fish his “super-sized” wire-wrapped hooks is to tie about 3 feet of leader to the bend of a large surface lure. What can I say? I’m not one to argue with success although how he avoids getting these embedded in himself on the foreword cast is beyond me.
