Hi Svenja. I’ve had great success with a very similar looking pattern (slightly different materials but same look) on still waters and good success in moving waters (both cold and warm species).
If you would like to try an experiment, tie a few of these using some burnt orange marabou for a tail and orange bead-chain eyes. If you fish them both at the same time using a dropper rig, I’d be very interested to know if you see the difference I see on my waters. The burnt orange almost always out fishes the all brown pattern.
Hope you will give this a try and let me know. Thanks.
Svenja, very nice. As I look at all the flies and study the details each Tyer has put into their flies I see one quality that all have. The desire to make the best they can. I am striving for that myself.
