tried to tie a mix of a damselfly nymph and stonefly nymph. Any advice?

Yes. Tie more of these. LOL. Will work on all waters, moving or still. Nicely proportioned Greg. Many tyers prefer to wrap the dubbing for the body more forward using cross wraps between and around the eyes. The wing case is often pulled over the eyes and tied off at the eye of the hook. I think I like your approach to make this one more appealing to the fish by making it more generic (both stone and damsel like). I’ve had great success with something similar but which uses a bit of burnt orange marabou fluff (from the base of the feather) as the tail and an orange colored abdomen made with dubbing of the longer fibers of marabou farther up the same feather. I’ll give your more subtle colors a try here and see if my fish like the brighter or subdued version best.

I tied 2 of these in hot yellow and uv pink. let's see what works best)
