Haha, yep! I don’t know how old your grandpa is, but the older generation saves everything. Funny thing is, when fly tying I save almost everything too. You just never know when you might use those scraps. Lol!
Fly tying scraps????? What are they???? At my bench there is no such thing Carly.
If you want proof of this statement, check out a post here from me called “Droppings”. Even stuff that falls on the floor by my bench during the tying process can make a fish catcher. LOL LOL LOL
Sometimes i get fed up with the mess on my bench and start throwing scraps away but I usually end up retrieving them i have little bits and pieces of this and that I’ve been hoarding 25 years and just can’t get rid of it
I throw away way too much! I cut a long piece of silk that i use, and about 2/3 is left of it. That 2/3 piece get thrown in the bin, never to be touched again. Only because my first priority at the tying station is quality.
I still love to see that people use all the materials to the fullest. Good job!
