Here’s what they look like dry. Great pattern, easy tie and from what I hear, very affective in the later evenings. Can’t wait to fish it this summer. Below 0 temperatures coming this weekend in the Midwestern U.S. so I’ll be trying to tie more of these..........unless I am able to get out ice fishing. Lol!

You know I bet a pike would hit a mouse on a tip-up while ice fishing. Then again, what won’t a pike hit? You just gave me an idea. Gotta go, I have to go set mouse traps. Lol!!

Some buddies and I just started mouse fishing this past summer. The Master Splinter was by far the best pattern we all tried, probably 3-1 on the strikes compared to other patterns. One thing I do with mine is cut a slit right down the middle of the tag end at the collar. This causes the foam tag to split into 2 sections that looks like ears. I'm in the Driftless area of WI...sub-zero weather not looking great for the winter trout opener!

Patrick, I’m just north of you an hour and a half. Fish the Driftless a lot. Love that area. Good luck if you get out. Hope this weather breaks soon.
