Ok you can thank me later, last minute gift ideas. Come up with an excuse to sit at your vice! Good way to get the spouse to encourage buying more feathers!

Used a thicker wire and improvised the hook so there isn't a sharp hook in the mess. Little earring hooks are pretty cheap. Curious if anyone else makes some of these to please share. Thought of using some dry patterns or maybe some wooly buggers too...

Yes Kevin, I do these too. Bet lots of us do. Great idea and the “fringe” benefit you’ve already stated. I always cut off the hooks at the bend so no hook worries. The ladies seem to really like them. The younger ladies (pre teen), seem to favor really long designs. Long strands of flashabou or whole saddle hackles are popular. I find these are a good way to use up some of those less than perfect feathers. LOL.

#billtrublubug #KevinSweet I tie traditional Carrie Stevens style feather wing streamers as well as married wing salmon patterns and use them as both earrings and pendants on necklaces. I have a jeweler who gifts them to customers as well as sells them. It’s the artsy side of fly tying because you don’t fell as pressured to tie specific patterns you can let your mind wander and tie what ever your hearts content with!

I do what Bill does. Cut the hook behind the barb.
