Gurglers are great top water patterns in my warmer waters. I haven’t tied any in this shade of blue. Will have to give it a try. Nice work Xavier.
No critical feedback, just a mention of a personal preference. I’ve started tying these with a wider body. Rather than using a foam “strip” of relatively equal width, I now cut an oval (to widen the body) and leave a length of foam (trimmed to a strip) at the front of the oval for the front of the fly.
The wider body gives higher flotation and lets me use longer fibered crystal chenille for the body. I sometimes palmer wrap a woolybugger style salt water sized hackle over the chenille. I think this broader profile makes the fly look more like a “mouthful”.
