Fiddling with Gurgler pattern for fresh water (largemouth bass version).

I started using a wider, oval shaped foam section rather than a strip of equal width. I wanted more bulk to the pattern (bigger mouthful) for the largemouth bass.

Also wanted some extra “gurgle” so added the”ears”. Extra long fibered hackle and crystal chenille (1 inch) length.

I like a white or cream belly on these so I use two pieces of foam (2mm) rather than a one color 4 mm section.

Should have mentioned that if you tie this one with a gray or brown top foam, trim the ears a bit longer and it’s a good mouse pattern. LOL🐭

Wow Thomas, the Evening Star isn’t an easy pattern at all. Still, it’s one of my favorite classics because it is so beautiful. I know you possess all the skills required though. I’ll be waiting to see your latest efforts. Go for it. @TitanicFlies
