I had it on a jig hook because I had a ton, you can just use any long shanked hook though. It’s just repeating chartreuse deer hair then a few turns of red hackle, deer hair, hackle, deer hair, hackle, end in deer hair, heavy green thread, a few gold beads on copper wire and copper wire wound up to the top.
I almost forgot. Tie in some gold or silver shiny stuff, I used small gold tinsel. Then do all your hair and hackle. At the end before the beads and wire, loosely wrap it like garland around the whole thing. Then tie off.
I also trimmed the hair before wrapping the garland and adding the beads and wire to make it easier to work with. I just tied off the thread, cut it, then after I finished trimming, I restarted it on the head.
