Mylar Tube Floater

Used a tapered underbody of 6mm thick white foam and pulled the 1/2 inch Mylar tube over it. Tied off both ends of tube and then attached the body to a 7XL #2 streamer hook. Added eyes and color via Sharpie pens. Frazzled tube at end to look like a tail. Thanks to Fishy Fullum for the idea. You can add a fake fingernail using epoxy if you want a lip on this one. Total length is about 5".

In a smaller size it would make a great stunned smelt for inert presentation.

Sounds simple enough Michael. Downsize the tube diameter and foam insert length and width to fit. Smaller eyes perhaps as well. Thanks for your thoughts.

You buy your materials from Joanne's? They have all the tubing CHEAP in all colors! 24' for $6

No John. I got this tubing at The local craft shop (either Michael's or A.C. Moore's, can't recall which). It was cheap but not as cheap as the Joanne's price. Thanks a lot for the tip!!!

I forget to use mylar - it's a nice material.
