I’ve been asked by a number of folks about leader/tippet twist issues when fishing propeller blade flies. My answer has always been a small barrel swivel inserted between the tippet attached to the fly (black marker) and the leader (red marker).
Even wet and soggy, these cast on less than a 6 Conner. Whatever rod you currently use to cast a cone head bugger will work for these. The two beads and the prop are small and add little weight.
Please recall that while these prop flies tied in Bugger fashion are similar to other prop patterns I’ve posted, they are still prototypes. The previous props have been fish getters and I suspect these will be too but I’ve no actual experience with them.
On FlyFlasher.com you can find 42,782 flies from all over the world. Flash your own fly patterns, upload your current work or search for inspiration. The flies are tagged, so you easily can search for them.
