Close to 40” of snow here in the last 3 weeks. My trout streams will be raging floodwaters this spring. Probably won’t get on them until June. Another 14” last night and today. True meaning of the phrase “Tying Season”.
I don’t know where you are, perhaps we’re close. For the first time in my life I want winter to end. I’ve always been a winter person, ice fishing for anything is my favorite thing on the planet. However, as of right now, I am changing my position to summer and fall. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, maybe it’s because the ice fishing has been frustrating this year. I’m not sure, but I’m over winter from now on. I’ll take its perks, and at the same time resent its length. Good luck. Maybe I’ll see you on the rivers this summer, hopefully, so long as it comes.
Yep, West Central Wisconsin, and I am growing very tired of all this fast. Georgia sounds pretty good right my now Zeke. Brian, I love ice fishing too, but I refuse to trudge through 45” of snow then cut through 30” of ice. I’d rather stay in and tie flies. Official number was on the news this morning for our area and it was for just February. The total is 45”. I need to move south Lol!!
Lake Michigan has been protecting the lower peninsula from the heavy snow and cold Wisconsin has been getting. We’ve just gotten normal snow. Lucky us I guess. I’m ready for steelhead action. Ice fishing is starting to get dull.
