Killer midge emergent fly. Crushes on my local tailwater all year. Tie em small. 18-24s. Size 20 pictured here. Red or black thread with uv flash wrapped over it. Then some gray hares ear dubbing with a couple tiny strands of flash coming out the back.

Fishing these on the bottom or somewhere else in the water column? If I was a trout I'd eat one!

I fish them under an indicator in a nymphing rig but I always put them on as my top fly in the setup bc they are supposed to be imitating a pupating midge larvae. No matter the time of year I have caught fish on them but of course they excel when there’s a good midge hatch going on. Give em a try they won’t let you down.
