Hook on this one is TMC 600SP size 1/0. Top picture is a saltwater Eagle Claw in a 1/0. Saw a lot of guys tying on the saltwater hooks on websites and they were also inexpensive. I sharpen them before use.
Good point. Never found salt hooks to be sharp enough. Have you tried using black nickel plated hooks for salt? Very sharp and good salt resistance reported by those I've tied for who do heavy salt fishing.
I'm pretty sure that TMC 600 SP is black nickel plated, and sharp as all get out right out of the package. Expensive, but worth every penny especially when you're trying to drive them home into the mouth of Esox Masquinongy! Muskies just clamp shut on a fly where Pike smash, turn and thrash. : )
